RISE of the KINGDOM of HOPPERS: #CitizenJournalism tech platform will be a huge disruptoršŸ°

Citizen journalism has been around for many years

It started in South Korea where the first platform of amateur generated information, Oh My News was created. The principle was simple; anyone could take part in the process of creating information.

When Abraham Zaprudertook his amateur film-camera and decided to go and record John F. Kennedyā€™s rally in Dallas, he inadvertently captured images of his assassination. Zapruder supplied his film to the Secret Service to assist in their investigation. Whilst is was not the only film of the event, it was the mostĀ complete.

Closer home in London, the amateur video footage of Ian Tomlinsonā€™s death during G20 demonstrations in 2009 brought a whole new explanation of the incident to light and a week later the true account of what actually happened was made public for the world to see, vastly contradicting the Metropolitan police claims of a natural death.

How can we forget George Floyds murder on 25th May 2020. Darnella Frazier was only 17 years old, when she used her mobile phone to film Derek Chauvin kneeling on George Floydā€™s neck until he suffocated and tragically died. Frazier was on her way to the convenience store with her nine-year-old cousin when she happened to stumble upon the incident.Frazierā€™s video, which sparked mass demonstrations around the world, captured Floyd gasping for air as he begged Chauvin for his life.
